Graduate Student Examples

This is a new grant offering, without any history, but we anticipate that successful proposals will address questions in sustainable agriculture that are important to farmers, Cooperative Extension staff, and agricultural researchers.

Grant topics in other SARE regions

Graduate student awards in other SARE regions encompass a wide range of topics, from pest management to farm energy production to the institutional purchase of local food. You should feel free to propose work on a wide range of research topics in sustainable agriculture with a clear emphasis on work that will potentially benefit farmers and agricultural service providers.

Funded grant awards in other SARE regions

If you want to see what has been funded by other SARE regions under this grant, go to http://www.sare.org/reporting/report_viewer.asp and, under "project type," select "Graduate Student Projects." You can search in a specific topic area ("goats," "no-till") with a search string, or you can put asterisks in this field to show all projects.

Newer projects listed there may not yet have reports, but older projects normally do; reading through these will give you an idea of the duration, complexity, and variability of content possible using these grant funds.
