Bacterial bulb rot can claim up to half of sweet onion crops, and the project manager will work with farmers to test an integrated approach to management that will include black and reflective mulches, new planting configurations, and other changes in culture that will minimize the need for chemical controls. Results will be shared with farmers and extension staff at summer field meetings, grower meetings, and a regional conference.
