Season extension translates into more sales and improved profits, but heating greenhouses with fossil fuels is far from optimal. The project manager will test the effectiveness of combining low-cost, lightweight solar panels to heat a large volume of water combined with a passive geothermal system. A computerized monitoring system will monitor energy use and temperature and the project manager will host open houses and summarize the results on a web site and in a fact sheet.
