Cut flowers can increase profits and improve farm diversification, but many farmers and farm advisors are unfamiliar with plant materials and cut-flower enterprises. The project manager will arrange a four-day tour of farms and markets so that growers can see how others plant, manage, harvest, and market their flowers. Workshops before and after the field trip, along with work with each individual grower, will support testing of new varieties and culture techniques. Outreach will be through new, industry-specific fact sheets, university publications, grower talks, regional and national meetings, and the media.
