Native, permaculture species have economic and ecological potential, and the sweet, blueberry-like Juneberry aligns with consumer preference for local, nutrient-dense, sustainable food. Cooperating farmers will develop trial Juneberry plots, look at key crop infrastructure issues, introduce the product to the market, and forecast costs and revenues; the project manager will follow through with an economic analysis, marketing data, and new production guidelines. Outreach will be through workshops and tours, a production guide, web resources, and grower trade periodicals.
