Farm labor is a very difficult thing to track, but is essential for developing whole-farm plans. The project manager will evaluate whether an electronic hand-held tool, which captures the time and locations of task, can be used to compile data about farm labor and equipment use. The date can then be uploaded, sorted, and analyzed, with the goal being to determine if a tool like this can increase farm efficiency. The project will result in enterprise budgets, a feasibility assessment, and will be used at field days, conferences, and conferences.
