Who Can Apply
Professional Development Grant requirements
Anyone can apply for a Professional Development grant, but applicants should have direct and substantial experience delivering agricultural education to extension, NRCS, and other service providers.
Professional Development projects draw on scientific and pedagogic expertise, and all applicants should demonstrate a firm grasp of current barriers and issues in sustainable agriculture.
Applicant experience
Typically, proposals come from extension staff, NRCS, and the agricultural nonprofit sector, as well as college and university faculty and staff and people who work on research farms and experiment stations. There is no requirement that applicants have a specific affiliation, but there is a clear expectation that applicants are credible and experienced in the science of agriculture, issues of sustainability, and understand the importance of profitability, good stewardship, and community.
