This continues a previous SARE grant that sought to connect schools with local farms for wholesale food purchases, and the project manager will continue to build capacity and viability and expand the program to the adjacent county. This phase of the project will also look at issues like storage, equipment, and technical assistance requirements so that consultation with schools new to the process or with limited capacity can learn how to get the infrastructure and training needed to make local food purchasing work.
