Scholarships

If you are an agricultural educator in New York, you can apply to receive SARE scholarship assistance to attend an out-of-state conference or workshop that has a sustainable agriculture focus. Scholarships are available for all kinds of educators, including extension agents, farmer educators, and natural resource conservation educators.

Scholarship funding can be used toward conference registration, travel, lodging, or meal expenses. Awards are up to $350 per educator.

Applicants should commit to writing an article for the Small Farm Quarterly magazine, or to doing some other outreach activity to share what you learn at the event.

After the event, to receive reimbursement, you must

1. Complete a brief evaluation form describing how the learning or networking opportunity strengthened your work. Download the New York Training Scholarship Evaluation Form (.doc)

2. Complete the NY Scholarship Accounting Form (doc) and include your original receipts. Download the New York Training Scholarship Accounting Form (.doc)

Sponsorships

If you are planning a conference or event with a sustainable agriculture focus, you can apply to receive SARE sponsorship assistance.

• Awards range from $350 to $500.
• Organizers must provide an attendee list and evaluation following the event to qualify for reimbursement, More information is in the application.
